Male character, in his 40-early 50s. Auditioners should have (or be able to put on) contemporary New York accent. Actor must be able to grow thick beard and sweat on cue. Role requires ability to show ambition (including capacity for parricide) and to perform mundane tasks in barn. Actor must be ready to betray close friend, embrace physical suffering and ignore sympathy from estranged siblings. Aptitude to show signs of rapidly failing memory, poor musical education and a complete lack of refinement is a plus. The role includes negative proximity with other actors, but no nudity is foreseen at this stage. Character must be able to appear both as shrewd businessman and as son of a farmer suffering from oppression by forefathers. Rehearsals on Tuesdays and Fridays from 7pm to 11pm.
