He implored Ganesha: “May the marriage we will enter be blessed with devotion, love, understanding of each other’s needs, good health, prosperity and piety. With mutual respect, may my bride and I fulfill our responsibilities with gratitude to God, ancestors and family, while living a righteous life together.” The Temple listened and he was wreathed in elation during his holy worship. A short distance away, the bride, surrounded by her silken sari decorated with gold and jewels, her substantial array of diamond accessories and other adornments for her bridal apparel, was having her hands hennaed. She felt blessed, too. Khajuraho, India.
